Looking at purchasing new brake rotors to go with existing XT calipers. Need a pair of 6-bolt 180mm. Is there any point in not sticking with Shimano (possibly RT66)? I'd be tempted to try Uberbike if there was another sale on. Does anyone have a specific rotor to recommend? Mostly for XC / trail riding, not gnarcore DH.

One benefit of sticking to Shimano is that you know it'll be the right size.

Other makes of this mid-sized rotor can in fact be 183mm and 185mm, although it should be obvious when buying. A 185mm rotor might hit in the inside of your calipers.

Shimano are only ever 180mm, so you can't go wrong.

Just stick with non-spider SLZ/ZEE (RT66).

Thanks for the tips, I think I'll opt for the rt66 then.

I've just got some Uberbike ones, really like them so far. They had a 17% off code on their Facebook page recently.
