Just fitted my new XT brakes and I'm thinking my rotors (Shimano RT75s) could do with reconditioning, so is it worth sticking them in the oven for cleaning/ stress relieving purposes?

What household cleaners are best for rotor cleaning?

Cheers.

hmm do you have any details of the heat treatment required and can you replicate it in a domestic oven? I think you might be over thinking it and it's probably best leave the heat treatment to Mr Shimano ๐Ÿ˜€

As for cleaning - IPA or dedicated disc brake cleaner - the stuff without rust inhibitors. IPA is the safest bet (iso propyl alcohol).

If you use anything the leaves a residue you will contaminate your new pads. You can get IPA down at maplins or your local chemist.

edit: beaten to it by a link!
