X-Fusion Slant fork with 180mm brake post mounts. Wheel with 180mm rotors. Deore caliper. Should work, but the rotor and the pads are barely aligned.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? So far there's been a slew of failures trying to get my kid's bike built (wrong bottom bracket shell size, no rotors the right size, calipers leaking) so this isn't my day so far. 🙁
Are you 100% sure it's a 180mm rotor you have on there?
I was going to say the same as jabbi - that looks like a 160...
Think we need to see where it says the rotor is a 180....
Convenient 160mm rotor in front of the 180mm.

What year is the Slant? There's some suggestion here that the Slant takes a 203mm rotor; if that's the case I don't know whether a PM203-PM180 adapter is available.
X-Fusion's Slant page states:
Max Rotor Size:180mm/203mm (XF adaptor only)
but it's not clear which rotor size needs an adapter or which it takes without an adapter.
Quite old, it’s a bit battered and from eBay.

Looks like 170
Needs a larger rotor
Looks like mine did when I fitted an adapter when one one was needed on my sweeps. Try a different rotor , just to check the sizing.
Very early slants seem to have come with a bigger rotor mount.

So my 10 year old son is going to have a bigger front rotor than me! 🙂
