I realise this may be a silly question but is it cheaper to buy a set of torx spanners to fit discs or to pay a shop to fit them?

torx spanner? you need a torx25 screwdriver bit - thats it

I have now fitted them but have two bits left over which resemble pencil sharpeners but without the holes.

Yep, bleed blocks. Useful if you're adept at spilling fluid onto brake pads left in the caliper during bleeding.
