[Closed] Brake bleeding - Will my Formula bleed kit fit Avid Elixirs?

Seems to be a lot of conflicting information about this online so I'm hoping someone will know!

I have a Formula bleed kit that fits my 2013 R1s and my older RXs (2011 maybe). I need to bleed some Avid Elixir 5s (not sure on year, but a couple of years old for sure), any chance my bleed kit will fit?

I don't want to start undoing bleed screws and risking losing fluid or letting air in if it's not going to fit. The Elixirs are on my gf's bike and we were planning on playing bikes this weekend see.

Any help appreciated.

I've done it the other way round so it should be fine

There's a wee bit of variation but I've done a few Avids with my Formula kit. If it looks like it'll fit, it'll fit, the threads haven't changed but sometimes physical space is a problem

As above ^^ Should do yeah.
On Epic Bleed Solutions website, it states the Avid kit being 100% compatible with all Avid and Formula brakes, so can't see why the Formulas wouldn't be with the Avids.. 🙂

Excellent. Thanks guys. I'm fairly sure my bleed kit came from EBS anyway, I'll give it a go when I get home. 🙂

You will be fine. Our kit is compatible with both Avid and Formula. The only problem comes when bleeding Formulas with the FCS adjusters at the lever. This restricts the bleed port somewhat. But we've got a special adaptor for anyone in that situation.
