Well, according to the Cycle Show (Which keeps getting better, IMHO. Kryten doing a voiceover today, as it happens!)

Wiggo wants to see a proper, pro level women's cycling team. Good on him! What odds on a Sky Women's team by the end of the year? Given the comments by Lizzie Armitstead last week, it sounds like this is an issue that's building momentum!

I'd love to see it, especially given the current strength of UK cycling for the ladies.

Sounds like a good idea but if they want equal pay then they have to race the same distances as the men.

Tiny. Not this year anyway.
There's currently another UK outfit in talks about a UCI-registered women's team in 2013.
Also, a lot of the domestic teams are getting more into it, mostly due to the Johnson Health Tech-sponsored womens races that run alongside the Tour Series. I know CyclePremier - Kovert will be running both mens and womens teams next year.
