It's been years since I last had one. I just fitted a bottom swing traditional style shimano front mech and wow! how much better is that. More mud clearance, better adjustment for granny cog and it looks the biz. I just wish I could fit one to my full sus too.

And they last for YEARS without going all rattly.

Yeah, much better - the only reason for top swing is when full sus design demands it (as unfortunately one of my full sussers does 🙁 )

My Superlight needs a top-swinger, but otherwise I always use the trad style. I have a mid-90's LX on a pub bike that's still grand.
