I was riding the Tour o the Borders route at the weekend and noticed around Tweedsmuir, running parallel with the road for a stint there was a path of the old railway.

Looking on OS 50K this line seems to run all the way up to gala via Peebles. I know that the part between Peebles and Inners is widely used to link the trail centres, but has anyone ridden the rest of the path / railway down towards Tweedsmuir? Is it as continuous as it looks on the map?

Its pretty good condition throughout i think.

Its in my list of things to try riding. You can also do peebles to penicuik and beyond pretty much on route.

And the fife coastal line...

Have a search on the Bearbones bikepacking forum. There's a poster from Hawick by the name of borderer who I'm pretty certain has ridden most or all of it.
