Anyone got one/recomend one?
Someone I'm sure linked to one a few weeks back that looked like 2 film cannisters on wires that plugged into the wall rather than the large wall mounted/free-standing hairdryer style ones I can find on google.
Winter's a long way off but the footpaths round here are sodden!
These work well:
Try ski shops - you'll generally find two designs, the warm air blowers that need to be plugged in or the dessicant gel bags that absorb the moisture in the shoes and then need to be dried out. Both types seem to work fairly well, although the powered ones are noisy...
Ok I used to work outdoors so when your out in it every day I've found the best way to dry footware out fast is the following
Take said footware off stuff with newspaper right down to the toes.
After 10 mins remove paper into recyle bin
Fill footware again with newspaper
After 30 mins remove 2nd load into recycle bin and you gussed it, fill with newspaper.
After 30 mins remove 3rd load into recycle bin and you gussed it, fill with newspaper.
After 2 hours you will have damp but useable footware ideally the footware while this is going on will be under a decent radiator.
Over night you will be back to perfectly dry footware. 🙂
I once worked solid for 2 weeks in the pooring rain and this was the only way of keeping feet going in such bobbins weather!
Yea, these looked to be the best of both worlds; CBA with drying out desiccant in the oven after every ride, and don't want the noise either, the one someone on here linked to had 2 cylinders about 3" long 1" diameter that warmed up,
I bought a set like that off ebay about 18 months ago, about £3.93 delivered from HK or something ridiculous like that. These:
They do work to an extent, but they don't really get the air circulation needed to dry a pair of boots and cause localised heating. They are better than leaving the boots, but not as good as rolled up newspaper and a radiator. I also would not ever ever leave these plugged in while I slept or went out of the house. Dodgy Chinese electronics with no certification in a wet boot and all that.
So in summary, good value for <£5, they haven't burnt my house down yet but they are no substitute for the proper hot air blower types boot dryers or rolled up newspaper.

Cheers, I'll pass on that type and go straight for the hair-dryer style then
