It's the hubs that will be the issue, not the groupset. If your drivetrain will take a new chainring, that's the most you will need, and you may find the current setup will work just fine.

No. Just a boost chainring. But you may find the current one fits anyway.

Maybe a new rear hub, if you can’t get spacers for the old one.

Ah, that's good news then! Hubs won't be a problem because I'm going from, 27.5 to 29er anyway, so gonna need a new wheelset regardless.

What's the best plan then? Try and fit with existing chainring and then check the chain line? Then get a Boost chainring if not?

Any links to videos showing the correct chain line? Not sure I'd be able to judge it without a good reference to check against!

Personally I'd just get a Boost ring to start with anyway as you're getting new Boost hubs.

I mean, SRAM steel rings (that will last a bit longer than forever) are around £15. Then you’ll know it’s right.

Chainline is less of an issue (IMO) than the existing chainring fouling the chainstay if tolerances are tight on your particular frame.

I've been running a non-boost 11sp crank and chainring on a boost frame for a while, with no obvious problems.

Just checked and there appears to be 3mm offset and 6mm offset versions.

Depends if you're getting a Boost ring or not.

Boost - 3mm

Non Boost - 6mm

Best plan is to see if it fits - if your current chainring doesn't foul the chainstay, you're good - the non-boost chainline may work better if you spend more time(do more pedalling) in the lower gears

If it does foul the chinstay or you don't like the chainline, you need a 3mm offset (boost) SRAM chainring.
