Boost spacing?

[#12791707]

I've got a Big Bro 29er which I love very much. However, I would like to upgrade it with some SIDIs. My front wheel hub is: Front Hub: Formula DC71 32h 100mm. Sus are hard to find. As you know, SIDI are 15x110mm Maxle Stealth Boost. Can I use spacers or something or would I need to buy a new wheel too?

Thanks!
FM

I think these are the exact stats of the front axel:

Maxle 15x100mm
Length 150mm
Thread pitch M15xP1.5
Thread length 20mm

Yes. Buy some boost spacers. There’s plenty of cheap ones available.

Yep, spacer kit works, 3 spacers, one for either end of the hub and another to space the disc rotor 5mm out.

I got one as a stop gap a year ago, I'm still using it because it was only a fiver Vs buying a new front hub...

Amazing!

So you basically put the 15mm axel through and then put the spacers on the inside of the forks?

If you buy the simple 5mm spacers, buy two sets and make sure you carry them...

Don't ask me why 🙂

well it is a little more fiddly obviously as you need to get a spacer on either end and then get the axle through but yeah.

^^that is a good call, especially if you think you'll be taking the front wheel out with any sort of frequency...

Spacers, and some narrow tape. Put the axle through the hub/spacers and tape the spacers to the existing hub end caps.

Still take a spare just in case it get's knocked off, but it'll survive 99% of the abuse that could be thrown at it.
