A good friend of mine is recovering from a serious road accident & is feeling a bit low ATM

So, looking for a good feelgood sort of book to send her as a gift, any ideas?

I was going to recommend Audrey Niffenegger's 'the time traveler's wife' but then spotted you said 'feel good'. It has some upsetting bits in.

Any book by Amy Tan.

wife quite enjoys Marian Keyes, very funny apparently. Seen her interviewed, mad as a box of frogs.

Old school, going back in time....but I love Bill Bryson. Especially the first couple.

Sorry, I thought this would be about recommending an escort service. Wrong thread.

More seriously, I'm just reading the 'Girl with the dragon tattoo' trilogy and enjoying the a lot.

+1. Superb; listening to them as unabridged audiobooks in the car - have missed taking the right turn off at times...
