Getting some Mud X for the winter gloop but have a question or two. Firstly Im not running tubeless but UST seem hard to come by for a decent price, second what is the opinion on running 2.0 up front and 1.8 rear (heard 1.8 TLR have a sturdier casing)?

Thanks in advance

I have had 2.0 on front and 1.8 on the back, better mud clearance I suppose but not really that much in it. Older versions had less chunky casing: I have a newer 1.8 and a couple of newer 2.0's that all seem to have the newer beefier sidewalls than my old ones. They seem a bit easier to tear than other tyres in my experince, but great tyres nevertheless.

I've been impressed with a 2.0 on the rear so far this winter, seems to roll well and is noticeably better than the Nokian NBX I used to use on my HT. However, I have noticed much less cushioning, so will be moving back to a higher volume tyre once conditions allow.

2's front & back. been using them for a few years now & never had any problem with tearing. Never felt the need to try newer alternatives. JE James were doing them for £20 a tyre a few months ago. I thought it rude not to at that price.

I got a new set of 2.0s just before xmas. First ride out, I pinched a hole in the front one. I'd had issues with the last set I owned too.. Multiple patches on the rear one by the time I'd worn it out. It's a shame as they grip and roll really well. Just have to put up with running higher pressures than I'd prefer.
