[#983715]

Sorry for another tyre thread but just bought a pair of Mud X 2.0 after reading countless good reviews and to be honest, after a ride yesterday, i'm not that impressed. they were ok in gloopy stuff but shocking on rocks, cobbles etc.
Anyone else have the same experience and what do you use now?
Cheers

They are brilliant on roots and rocks (for a mud tyre), are you running them too hard?

What pressure are you running them at? I ran mine 25-30psi tubeless last winter and got great grip everywhere.

Tyre of choice for Cannock mud. Agree with awh pressures around 30psi

Not too sure if i want to swap just interested in peoples opinions. My mate had just put some Bonty Jones ACX on to replace his mountain kings and they were the same too! Just wondering if its the trails we ride rather than blaming the tyres.
mi©k - What are the trailrakers like anyway? OK?

Right..pressures. Been running them at 40psi. Will drop them down to 30psi and give them a go.

id say the mudx is more of an allrounder than the trailraker for sure tho

I was never impressed with mine and also had a sidewall blow out on one within the first 50 miles. Always preferred my Trailrakers for the proper muddy stuff.
I've now moved from 26" to 29" and do have a set of the 29er version (as it's about the only 29er specific mud tyre i can think of) but am yet to use them to see if the bigger version are any better.

I think they're a great tyre unlike the Bonty XDXs on the fuel ex8 I've been riding this morning.

Got a pair of 29er mud x, work really well on rocks, roots, wet leaves etc pressures about 30psi

i have same opinion of the mud-x's (i.e. not that impressed)

i just use the tubeless ready bonty acx tyres instead, much more of an all rounder and still clears mud well

for quite dry conditions (like the past september) the xdx's were great

nb: all 29er tyres

I haven't yet found a Bonty tyre that I like - it is very much horses for courses!
Might be willing to try these on my 29er...
