Any one know how to service the rear hubs, or even better a web site or pdf with pictures ๐Ÿ™‚

Obviously tried Trek and Bontrager, and the one on the Park site is different.

Cheers

If you've had hubs with cartridge apart before these are not any different.

You will need an 11mm hex spanner to get the freehub off though. If you need to replace the freehub you can get a new freehub from Pedal On based in Salisbury, google it as they do mail order.

The freehub comes with a 8mm to 11mm adapter to save buying a specialist tool.

There used to be full, and very useful, schematics on the Bonty website, they definitely not there anymore?

Pedal On are based in Tadley, near Basingstoke, but are an excellent shop. Alternatively any Trek/Fisher dealer can order them in.

I serviced the hub in my Bonty Race Disc Tubeless rear wheel yesterday. As long as you have the right cone spanners (you need a 19mm as well as more usual sizes to do the job properly) it is easy to get the bearings out (6000 1RS), but I couldn't figure how to remove the freehub. As it hardly ever slips I just sprayed grease inside it and figured I'd do it next time.

The freehub on my Racelites comes off easily enough provided you can lock the spindle. I usually put two cone nuts on the non-drive side and tighten them together. Then just undo the nut holding the freehub and slide it off rotating slightly with the pawls.

The part that tends to get knackered is the freehub roller race which sits against the wheel hub, where the rollers corrode quite easily and run in a nylon or some plastic cage.
