The freewheel on my Trek8000 is as rough as.
It's a Bontrager race disc wheel, with the hub stamped as Bontrager.
I can get the axle off and the bearings out on both sides, but how does the freewheel come off?
Any tips greatly appreciated, thanks.

You may need to provide the year too.
Bonty hubs are made by different companies every year.
Mine were made by DT. The early ones were made by Chris King.

Your local dealer will be able to help if you get really stuck.

Pretty fair bet it's held on by an 11mm allen bolt from the brake side, however 11mm keys are fairly thin on the ground(Bonty freehubs come with an adapter to fit an 8mm key, but i've split them on stubborn bolts),but an imperial 7/16 is exactly the same size.

Thanks, think it's a 2005ish bike and have suspicion it's actually a DT hub

A lot of the recent ones are Formula. Which, for servicing, largely means treat it like a cheap Shimano, as far as I can tell.
