For summer (fingers crossed it comes) I would plan to swap out the flat bar on my Fortitude for a Midge bar I have spare.
The bike is currently running an 8 speed Alfine.
If I'm honest I would prefer not having to shell out for a Versa shifter set or J Tech lever as at the minute its all a bit of an experiment.
So after a quick Google this solution(?) popped up.
Not pretty but looks like it ought to work with minimal intrusion on hand position.
Any thoughts/better suggestions?

I have fitted trigger shifters to the tops of midge bars in the past by opening up the clamp with a dremel.
letmetalktomark - its on a flat bar but could go pretty much anywhere where it can slide along to.

Ah I see.
So maybe in the drop part then.
Hmm.
