Hi
I am new to this site , so any help would be helpful. I am thinking of buying the new Boardman Pro, winner of best bike from WMB, are they as good as they say, and do any of you have one?? If not, what other bike should i consider,ie, lightweight,100/120 travel, good spec hardtail.
Im selling my Cove Stiffee, and want something lighter with less travel as i ride a lot with my daughter(3 1/2) in a Hamax bike seat.

Thanks for any help.

If you are technically inclined and are happy to tinker with your bike then I am sure they are great value (Halfords are a car spares shop not a high end bike shop IMO). I have a Boardman CX team and its way ahead of everything else in the same price point.

You need to be careful about whether the Hamax will be OK if the seat tube is lightweight alloy.

I have a Boardman Comp and love it. As long as you go round the bike with an allen key and check everything you will be fine. They are boxed almost complete, the Halfords person shouldn't need to do much other than attach handlebars and do PDI etc.

PS. Don't ever ask them to bleed your brakes lol

bikes good, shops not (generally) good..

also don't think the lastest raneg looks as smart as the year before..

Halfords person shouldn't need to do much other than attach handlebars and do PDI etc.

😆 - what could go wrong 😆

Hi, I have a HT 2011 pro, IMO the best hard tail bike you can buy. I have owned spesh s works carbon epics,/stumpjumper, treks etc which have cost 5,6,7..times and this bike always puts a smile on my face when I ride it. The only drawback is to save money they have cheaped some components such as bars, stem and crank and fork compared to the 2010 model. I have upgraded mine for not much money.
Got to say its the best ever £1k I spent on a bike. Ok you have to go into halfords to buy it!! It's a real shame they don't distribute through LBS's or specialist dealerships as they would be much more recognised than being labelled a 'halfords bike'

One other thing it comes with a carbon seat post, so not sure about attaching the hamax
Anyway here are pics of my bike as a teaser http://covbuggy.pinkbike.com/album/My-Boardman-HT-Pro-2011/
