[#3435968]

Without the possible "badgeist" thoughts.
My mate has asked me to go look at Halfords bikes with him so he can spend his CTW voucher.
He is a keen outdoors bloke happy on mountains in boots, in any weather, but wants to see how he gets on with bikes and won't want a total dog.
I can't see much I don't like about the current 2x10 set up Boardman HT pro.
In fact, it even got me thinking about being a source of half decent components for an ht project of my own which I'm looking at.
Any thoughts please people ?

I thought about this before too. Seems like a very good way of getting good parts on a budget although when I started looking at Canyon bikes etc I thought they were equally good value and I wouldn't be changing everything over just to lose the Baordman frame.

Haven't tried the new ones but the old ones were bloody nice. Snobs liked to say "Expensive parts on a cheap frame" but I think that's only because it's the only part they could conceivably criticise.

No, actually I agree, the frame seems good and geometry wise it looks fine. I've been looking at a British hardtail frame though and just fancy something different myself, my own project is all on paper though and can't happen til after Christmas. However I do have to go to Bike Hut and "help" buy a bike for Rob tonight !

Bought a ht pro as a second bike to the full sus. Got to say a really nice bike that will put many other more expensive brands to shame.
To be honest I dont think you can get better for the price or for £500 more.

Depends what frame you're putting the stuff on really, as to whether it'd make a good donor.
