Is there anything shimano compatible out there other than £££ new stuff and rocking horse poo MX66s?

What are you talking about? (elaborate, please?)
shimano make BMX hubs. they're not particualarly expensive in the grand scheme of all things BMX.
Don't you work in the "industry" anymore?

112mm OLD freehub that will take shimano HG and DX sprockets (and fit a Brompton)

DXR hubs are £200 RRP and I hear they are crap!

Looks like I'll have to adapt a std hub...

looks like the old DX hubs use an external lockring so won't take an 11 or 12T, can anyone confirm?

Looks like GT made some also:

Redline bmx hubs use shimano cogs. Can pick them up cheap
And they work well.

I'm confused!
What are you actually trying to achieve here?
11-9T for BMX is micro drive (completely different freehub system) only introduced to alow tiny rings for clearance/fashion
Shimano compatible BMX is for racing <12T won't handle Teh Awesumz Torques so well.

I know nothing about Moultons really but always thought they'd use Capreo or something?

Brompton is the same spacing as BMX 112mm (Moulton, prob 135mm who cares)

I want to run 11/12T on teh Brommie.

I'll maybe give the Joytech a go - found Redline on US amazon @ $55

I have a spare Dahon Mju Uno threaded rear hub / wheel that might work?

If you'll go up to 13T, you'd be better getting an old BMX hub with a mini freewheel thread and run an ACS or Dicta 13T freewheel. That Joytech thing will be pish, and will have an impossible to source free hub body.
