Is there such a thing as a light BMX made for kids. Aware of the CNOC 16, but my mate's boy is about 6 or 7 so probably too big for those. Or maybe not?
Any pointers appreciated ๐
Nothing? It's about to fall off the page ๐
what about a race bmx? Haro, redline, pk etc
My daughter has a Redline pitboss, basically a scaled down 16" mini
race BMX but not for racing (if you get what I mean). it's lighter off the shelf and has way better quality parts than anything Isla bikes do.
Cnoc16 is ugly and cheap looking IMO, like the 20" and above Isla's tho.
the race bmx's are mad light- try bmx talk there are always decent ones for sale
How do race bmx's work as a trail bike for a kid? Would they also be up to a bit of street/park action?
only well if they have skills and fitness in abundance, they obviously have no gears, and the gearing isn't low. and the narrow light/fragile tyres are meant to be run high pressure for smooth BMX race track use not mud, roots, rocks.
They're pretty strong tho.. my daughters copes fine with her 15st dad jumping it ๐ณ
kides race bikes have awful geometry/sizing for park/street riding
if you're looking for a very lightweight kids mtb then go with islabikes.. if you're looking for a 16" park street/BMX WTP, Fit. stolen etc. all seem to do good ones now.
Great stuff! Thanks, will check out the Redline.
This kid won't be hardcore in the slightest, so race one sounds fine.
Dez - just noticed, if he's an average height 7yr old he's too big for a Redline pitboss, check out the Proline mini/junior instead
Cool - is that an 18" wheel?
no. in race bikes "micro" would be 18", mini/junior are 20" but the tyres/rims are different to regular 20x1.75
OK, thanks for that.
