GIZZAGO!?!?

you're not the first to ask 🙂 Trouble is, it is sooooo much fun, it is hard to get off and let people try it! 😀

I bet. I do love my LTc but I find myself leering at TRc's in an inappropriate manner 😀

DAVE-what height are you? Think large is quite small compared to some other brands version of large....

5'11" - the large is spot on for me

For comparison, I've also got a medium Covert, which is a bit short for me, but nice and chuckable, so great for what I use it for.

Well that review made for interesting reading not what I was hoping to hear! It might dictate that I go carbon. The one thing I'm hoping to end up with is a more poppy bike!

I'm suprised about the alu review but with the extra weight it makes sense. I can't believe how playful the carbon version is, it's extremely easy to launch of the slightest of bump or root.

the review seems all over the place, keen to get a weight point across but never sure how.

The weight looks comparable with the LT/LTc difference having demo'd a LT and tried my missus's LTc I'd be happy going for it. Especially in JPS Black and Gold.

I'd like to know size and price as well 😀

As an aside, what do people think is a fair price second hand?

Urgh, that picture is pornographic.
Contains both the things I genuinely lust over in the MTB world - a carbon Tr and XX 1x11 groupset. I hate you.

This may help with size
http://www.santacruzbikes.co.uk/news/santa-cruz-demo-days-13/151

I tried a medium TRc and it seemed right, the longer top tube makes it fit better for me compared to my medium heckler (i'm on the limit for reach there)

For price I'd say look along the Blur LT line and the kits will come out the same. The US prices are in line with that and they work out comparable with VAT & Import duty etc.

Which one are you looking at second hand fathomer?

Mikewsmith heading down to my local dealer that's on their next Saturday for a chat. Only thing is not really sure where they are going to let you demo the bikes.

Most shops have a demo loop if they have done it before, Biketreks had 2 or 3 variants of 2 hrs out of ambleside. enough for a proper thrash about and a good road & tech climb.

If it's not organised then it's normally leave ID & deposit and get somewhere fun as fast as possible

I'd love a TRc, I can't afford a full price one but not sure I'd buy a second hand one as it'd still be pretty expensive with no warranty.

If I could find a new one for £2 to £2.1k I don't think I'd be able to contain myself.

I'm hoping the latter of the two if possible as there is plenty of riding within an hour of the shop.

I have a TRc bought last Feb and I simply love it! 140mm Crossmax ST XO 1x10 Hope M4 Reverb Easton Havoc bars simply a do anything bike......for me anyway!
End of the year will replace the frame and in all honesty it will be another TRc.

Tried Yetis, Specs, Treks and others......simply IMHO the SC TRc was miles better,

No fella will have had it two years.......it's what I have done tbh ride the bikes hard and if they are feeling worn n tired then replace them.

If I were a banker......I would have a fleet of them oh and a nomad to!! 🙂

Interesting that so many people are putting fairly long travel forks on the TRc. I don't quite get this. If you are looking for something with 140/150mm travel why not go for an LTc or is it the slacker Head angle that makes it appealing? If that's the case then I'm going to hang on for the new LTc which I reckon is going to be out in the next few months. Should be like a longer travel TRc with similar HA but higher BB and designed around a 150 or 160 fork

The new LTc should be out (my missus has one) 142mm Rear, slight tweaks & ISCG mounts?.

I'm aiming to stick with 130 maybe 140mm forks, I have a 160/170mm bike already thats too much for the trails here.

Your missus has one? They haven't even been announced yet. The most significant change will be a slacker head angle. probably slightly revised geometry and bolt through rear.

Which is why I asked the question about the TRC. Is it only the slacker head angle that is the reason for people buying these rather than an LTc for a bike with a 150/160mm fork

The next release of the LTc was released this winter, the one after this will be a couple of years off.
It has 142x12 rear and a number of changes over the original LTc

There are run out's of the previous ones going on.

TrC with a Rev set at 140mm seems sweet to me

Mine has u-turn revs. They spend 90% of their time at 130 or 140, but get wound out for big descents.

Best of both worlds 🙂

As far as I know the LTc has pretty different geo to the TRc, at least different bb heights which is one of the best (/worst) things about the TRc.
