I remember seeing these a couple of years ago and they seemed pretty well put together. Still a good buy for £40?

I like them, as ever depends on your head shape.

£40 where?

Like mine, pretty solid, would be very tempted with a spare or 'alternative colour way' at £40 - do tell!

I have the 17 model, fits my head shape well, certainly better than the IXS I had before.

I like mine. Bulky but very comfy. Feels similar in fit to my Xen.

Great helmet. Basically a Met Para without the chin. Wears a lot lighter than weighs, if that makes sense.

I got one a while ago for about the same price. I was very happy with it, including on the day when I launched myself headfirst into the edge of a rock and the Goldeneyes did its job admirably.

Love mine. Feels different (but not in a bad way) to Giro helmets I’ve used, fits my head shape. Tempted to pick up another.

The fit thing is obviously subjective to whatever shape yer barnet is, but it's the first helmet I've had that I don't have to graunch up really tight to stop the peak coming down at the front on lumpy descents!.

And as a result of that, I don't get the baldy mans equivalent of helmet hair - big deep liney dents across the skull! 😆

I had a line of nearly a dozen lids on the counter at Merlin and worked my way through them, wobbling my head around like a mentalist to the amusement of staff & other customers. Going in I was convinced I'd be buying a Bell Super 2 and the exercise was just a way to justify that decision. I came away with a Goldeneyes though.

Six months on, the only thing that niggled me is a lower brow than I was used to, but you could say that also forces me to actually look up at the trail more.

Cheers, Stu

For those interested....

MET, Giro and Specialized all seem to be fine on me so I've taken a punt.

Also taken a punt, cheers for the heads-up! Shame they only had the medium left in Green. The £20 On-One I've got is that awkward 'close but not quite there' fit on my bonce, bearable but niggly. Hopefully this'll be better!

I tried one on the other year and really liked it, it was comfy, but there seemed to be a massive gap between your head and the shell, I could probably put my thumb in between. I have just been looking on google now and all the images seem to be like this. Is this how they are meant to be, as I sent it back as it felt too big, even thought it felt secure enough.
