Looking at a new steel ht frame. Saw these dirt cheap on crc. Just wondered what people think of them. So any users or ex-users out there?
Had mine for over a year now. Fantastic frame...here's what I said on another thread...
"A Blue Pig or Blue Pig X would be a great choice. I’m 6’ 2” and my 18” Pig X was spot on for pretty much every type of riding, but especially the more technical gnarly stuff. I ran mine with 150mm Revelations but I found them to be a bit noodly when the going got really rough so I ended up fitting 36 Floats with a plan to reduce the travel to 150mm with a spacer. An ideal frame / fork combo IMHO"
I was in the process of selling mine to help fund a new project but the CRC Ragley price reduction had put paid to that as used prices have tanked, so I'm going to keep it.
Mine just arrived and the QC issues are definitely still there. Seat tube reamed off centre and head tube damaged.
My CRC bargain just arrived, looks great!
Try finding a headset to fit it! The recommended Warhead is sold out globally, ordered a Hope.
My only concern is mine doesn't have the swap out dropout... guess I'd better be careful!
I assume everything is ok with yours? Not happy with the condition mine arrived in at all.
I've owned 2 X's, lovely feeling special frame , looks great in dark blue and I had no quality issues with either . At CRC prices I don't think you can beat them with all the frames features . But I would definitely get an X .

The 44IESS still appears to be in stock at CRC.
I've got a Blue Pig X with 150mm Revs on it. It replaced an old Blur and I absolutely love it. It's my only bike and is superb, whether it's bike packing the Pennine Bridleway or downhilling and xc in the Portes de Soleil and Meribel. I've had no quality issues at all.
Thanks for the responses. Was about to push the button but none left in my size.
