Planning on riding Bloody Bush W-E as part of a longer ride. Done it before BITD, but note there's been a bunch of waymarked stuff go in out of Kielder. It looks like I'll be fine dropping east from the border stone to Kielder, but not sure about riding up from the Newcastleton side - am I going to find myself riding 'the wrong way' against a waymarked one-way system...?

From what I remember, its hardly sinuous singletrack....Also as its the Scottish side of the border, itsย  multi user. Also I as I have seen it advertised as a "two directional" route

If you are talkingย  about the Lonesome Pine / Cross Border Trail ..it's one way from Kielder to the Bloody Bush toll stone ..

Having said that ..it rides better the other way which I have done later on in the day ( late afternoon / early evening ) ..this section of trail sees very little traffic and for the most part you can see whats coming towards you ...

It joins in to some great singletrack on the boardwalk at the top of Stairway To Heaven ..taking you all the way down to Kielder Village ..

Just don't tell anyone I told you ..

Edit : sorry ..just re-read your post .

Away from the way-marked red route at Newcastleton the trail that takes you to the toll stone is on forest fire road ..two directional ..
