Got my new saints yesterday and of course the hoses are huuuge! The search I have done tells me the best method is to back bleed by pushing the fluid from a syringe via tubing up to the lever. Do you just open the bleed nipple, push through the fluid, close the bleed nipple, top up resovoir?
Yes, that should do it, might also be worth doing it from the caliper end to shift any stubborn bubbles in the caliper.
Thank you bigyinn, that is my afternoon planned then.
If you are careful you can get away with shortening hoses without having to rebleed the brakes. There have been quite a few threads on this on the forum.
There is instructions that come with the saints regarding bleeding from the caliper up.They have a few extra steps in them over just pushing fluid through which helps to give an even better feeling brake.
I will attempt the no bleed method, failing that I will RTFM. ๐
If a shaky handed numpty like me can do the no bleed method you will be fine. Just make sure you have all the tools you will need close to hand. Especially whatever you are using to clamp the hose holding blocks together to knock the new insert in.
