Is incredibly easy, after about 2 years of avids, i was shocked that it took about 5 minutes to bleed each brake and that was that.

Back Bleeding New SLX in case any wants to know.

I dont know why other manufactures make it so hard

Good innit. Just like doing a motorbike. Though I quite like the Formula approach too, with the 2 syringes, push/pull, I don't like needing specific tools though.

The old Shimanos you dont need anything but a little bit of clear pipe and just use the lever to push the fluid though , keep nipping the bleed nipple. I would not use any other brake but Shimanos. I'm still running 2 sets of XT and XTR the older ones on both bikes. If I ever upgrade it will be to the new style SLX or XT

Yeah, still easier to back-bleed with a syringe though even with those ones. Takes longer to find the syringe than it does to bleed the brake

I bled my new XT brakes with nothing more than a bit of pipe just like I did my old ones.

Yup, no reason not to other than that back-bleeding's easier and faster.

I have been totally unable to bleed my XT dual controls. Tried all variations of bleeding I can think of and they are still spongy ๐Ÿ™
