Does anyone ride anymore or is everyone blasting these days? "Went for a quick blast" seems to be the prefered term for "rode my bike".

I don't think I've ever blasted. I've ambled, minced and bimbled. How do you ride yours?

it's pretty much smash, thrash or blast everything here

... but as soon as they enverbify "awesome" I'll be awesoming everywhere instead

I have mused on the terminology used to describe riding fairly recently.

It's all 'shredding, slaying, killing it, bossing it'.

Pretty aggressive stuff, like the trail is a thing that needs dominating.

TBH, I don't really understand it.

If I'm on my enduro weapon then I don't really have any choice but to go for a blast - destroying berms, perhaps even annihilating entire trails.

I don't necessarily like it, but what else can I do?

You forgot death march.
You're allowed to get drunk and fall asleep in the bath after a death march.

I think it goes Bimble, Pootle, Spin, Ride, Blast, Trudge, Epic, Death March.
Well, that's what we called our kids, anyway.

I bimble or pootle. My Strava times are usually better than when I attempt to blast 😀

I always genuinely thought a blast was a quick paced ride (measured exclusively by your own standards) or one where you ride a little harder than your all afternoon peace around something that was predominantly single-track or twisty/sharp stuff but only when you don't have much time. The road version is similar but without the fun aspects of some nice single-track and added diesel fumes.

For me a blast would be - a 2 hour ride around the local trail centre wheezing a lot but pushing myself to ride each section as hard as my mediocre skills would allow.

Sending it on the other hand - is for parcels i.e.
Team CRC has been sending it to the max this week = Christmas shopping has started and there's a lot of black Friday deals on.

Your autocorrect seems to be on the blink, I think you were trying to say:

"My own shreddies are from TK Maxx"?

[roadie] I popped in a ton on Friday morning, which translated as a pretty steady ride. But this morning I smashed out 90 as it was full gas. I think I only deviate from this when I race. When I go out on the MTB, I just go for a ride? [\roadie]

Definitely ride as blast sounds like you went hard and fast, something I don't do.

My personal bugbear is "schralp". I've not idea how one would go about schralping, but it doesn't sound very healthy.

Nothing new about blasting. I've been going on quick blasts for decades. Sometimes I wish I was more about the epic mince with a bit of bimble-gnar thrown in. But those days are rare.

Ride. I go for a ride.
Plain & simple/boring.

It’s like having the heating on Full Blast.
It’s never actually made any kind of sound akin to a blasting sound, however high it’s turned up.

It’s this reference to activities with the word “cheeky” that makes me tut.

Nothing wrong with a cheeky ride...

For those times when you really should be doing something else but, "ahh, sod it, go on then"

We usually just go for a 'ride' but sometimes I'll pop out for a quick blast about, usually no more than half an hour of skids and wheelies and riding down stairs and other adolescent stuff, if I fancy. I tend not to shred, schralp, own, boss or kill anything much. Mooching's good though, followed by a bimble along the same bit of whatever you've previously mooched along, with a flask of tea and a cheese sarnie, obvs. You can fit a mooch into a bimble, but you [s]can't[/s] shouldn't bimble while mooching, that's just rude.

If it's in a group ..its a ride .
If I'm solo ..its a pootle or a mooch aboot ( pootle is when I know where I'm going ..a mooch is more of an explore somewhere new).

Mate of mine is constantly asking if I want to go enduroing.

Can’t work out if he’s joking...

Blast is fine. It has been used for a long time.

it's 'hooning' that gets my goat. I can imagine people saying this who wear their collars popped and have tribal tattoos despite being from Milton Keynes.
