Gonna try the Grywne Fawr route this 'avo, but I can't find any trail routes online (so gonna make it up using the OS). Looking at the map there're lots of bridleways connecting bits of hills, but can anyone recommend some trails or point me in the direction for trail maps? Is the mbwales 14-map pack any good? Bikely doesn't seem to be working so that's no good. Cheers.
I dont rate that map pack.

You can pick them up from Go Outdoors stores.
Ive photographed my black mountains map and hosted it here for others to extract some route markings to their own OS maps.
Yellow routes are hiking ones Ive done that you may be able to ride on parts of, but orange, blue and pink are definite MTB routes.
(pink crosses arent no ways, but routes in two directions)
I was gonna do the black mountains this arvo but this weather has put me off.
If you get the book, my advice would be the Mynydd Langorse route. Its an absolute beauty.
That route is Red on Stoners Black2 map above.
Stoner, that's very nice of you! The pink bits following the non-marked paths along the bluff are useful cos I wasn't sure how rideable they'd be. Hugor, thanks for the book tip. The weather is fairly wet here in the sunny cotswolds, but the Met office map suggests the storms in the area will clear about 4ish so I'll have a soggy first couple of hours as I climb out from Cwyoy to the bluff. But then the plan is that the weather will clear up, leaving me with a bright afternoon/evening for the pootle along the bluff, down the valley past the resevoir, through the woods and back to my wagon.
how was it, monsta?
