So with my new smart trainer I was going to try Zwift because everyone else seems to, however BKool despite having a name that is beyond shit actually sounds quite good. The main attraction seems to be many more real-world routes which would keep my interest going. So:
Is it any good?
Can you just join a mate and ride the Galibier or whatever?
What are the differences between it and Zwift?
Are the routes all videos or 3d models?
Have you looked at Rouvy. I swap between that and Zwift. With a fast internet connection the augmented rides are good. I found Bkool very clunky.
Yet to try Bkool.
Don't forget https://www.rgtcycling.com/ is currently free including premium features, there's some some nice routes on there including Cap de Formentor, Stelvio Pass and Mont Ventoux. Plus you can use the "magic roads" feature to get them to convert a gpx route into your own custom ride, maybe your favourite A to B or perhaps somewehere you hope to visit after this apocolypse die down a bit.
I use it and quite like it. Switch between Bkool and Tranerroad and find Bkool great for longer steady rides as the graphics is good. You can join any live route from either the start or with the last rider, and if your're riding the same again you can add yourself (and other riders) as ghost to compete against them.
You can also import routes created from apps like Strava.
BKool's also got workouts. Pretty sure they've also got a free trial period so you might as well give it a go and see what you think.
