Brills, now I can don my Oakleys for night rides ๐Ÿ™‚

Helmet mount, Mr Nutt might have a point! If could forge/mould a curved 'array' for the bulb housing??

I'm so going to buy a set of your lights Trout.

I want that bad bhoy! What are the timeframe for those, and when will it be available? Most probably I would need a Butler to run behind and carry batteries on trails.

Ha Ha this was just a one off as I was bored last sunday and had a box of stuff to play with .

I just sort of made it up as I milled a piece of Ali . got a few measurements wrong so had to adapt the design on the fly .
it is rough as a very rough thing and get very hot .
though when on the bars and moving it is OK

it would be a great night DH light with the double bar clamps do they have such comps .

runs from an 18 volt Makita drill battery and will do 1.5 hours on full
and 5 on low
but low is 1000 lumens
medium is 1750 lumens
high is about 3500 lumens

IMO once you reach 2k Lumens and that's plenty enough for trails night riding. Anything more is a pure Bling for carpark competition and then batteries factor will crop in. I mean, how many do you have to carry? Will you really be running that power on full? But that is insane, /shakes his head for pure awesomeness.

I fully agree Popstar 2000 lmns is about the max anyone would ever need
I have proved this when testing multiple lights
1000 great 2000 mmm lots better 3000 cant tell much difference and the near ground is burnt out .

It is bonkers and will get used this winter and only use High as a hand warmer .

Come on Peachos dont be a grump
what wrong with doing something daft

nah nothing, don't get me wrong i admire your skills and desire to build something purely for the sake of it...but I think even 1000 lumems is OTT for mtb!

How about Paddy's own doglight next?

Neat work again troutie 8)

These led lights must be more efficient and cheaper than 500W+ halogen spotlights on houses? has no one come out with one yet?

There is no such thing as too much power!

if you increased the area of duralamin on top and wee touch of teflon coating it could double as a handle bar mounted portable george foreman grill.

you sir on to a winner
get yourself on to dragons den!
