my 34th this week and my dear wife wants to buy me some brakes (need some new ones) budget wise merlins xt offer fits nicely but she would stretch to the hope x2s. she wants to order them today so any thoughts. ive always run avids, while good stoppers have had enough of rebuilds, stuck pistons on the trail, pad fitting nightmares.

Happy Birthday Tang, have a look at these, great value at the moment and on of the best feeling and powerful brakes on the market at the moment.

And don't tell anyone but they are the same as the 2009 brake

XT's are very good, but the Hopes look nicer (but don't work as well). Also they don't work very well with all shifters (specially ones with indicators on them)

not sure, might be worth a call to merlin before you order
