Recently single, and have a rare full 2 weeks free in the summer without my kids whilst their mother takes them on holiday. Would seem a shame not too embrace such an opportunity to enjoy a bike related holiday.

Riding wise,I'm 43, reasonably fit, technically I'm very comfortable on reds at trail centres, but I'm an XC/trail rider not a downhiller. I'd ride like to something somewere with the sort of riding found at Skyline at Afan, some nice scenery but without the Welsh weather.

First thought was an mtb holiday but would also consider taking the roadbike somewhere nice.

Would want the social apsect of riding as part of a group and the opportunity to have a few beers in the evning and do a bit of site seeing too.

Budget around £1500 all in.

Suggestions invited!

Mike ,that is a thought. Maybe I could take the car and then do a road trip the second week?

What was the white room chalet set up like and what level of coaching do you get? It would be nice to up my skills whilst I was there.

http://switch-backs.com/bubion/
Have been three times. Tends to be one big uplift in the morning then mostly down from there. Bubion is a great base. White washed village perched on the side of the mountain. Cold beer in village square while tinkering with bike cant be beaten. Riding is epic.

http://rivierabike.co.uk/
Been once. Tends to be more than one uplift per day but that does vary. Food in the hotel is fantastic. Riding is epic.

Have done a single days riding with them. Local food is best in Spain. Local women will make your knees melt (I'm married to one..). Riding is epic.

Drop Stevo a mail, very Ski chalet style, friendly too much food & beer & cake etc. My group mainly rode but I think do look after people very well skills wise.

Puremountains.com
Mountain bike holidays with wilderness trails and farmhouse accommodation in Sierra Nevada, Spain.
We will be going for our third time this year.
Great trails for all abilities and they have a great support vehicle too.

+ 1 for Rivierabike. The riding is amazing and they'll tailor it to the group. Food in the hotel is plentiful and the bar is opposite. Fantastic!
