My poor old SS Inbred has been sat at the back of the shed on soft tires with the bars turned through 90° for over a year. Every time I see it I feel bad. 😐

Who else has something stashed in the darkness like a mad relative?

Got a battered Pace RC200 frame (F5?) with 420mm RC31 forks hanging from the garage wall. Criminal really, but I might build it up again one day.

Not so much complete bikes but bike bits. Boxes full of them, most hardly used. I reckon I could build two bikes without leaving the house for other parts.

I have a lovely little Italian racer what I jolly well have not used for a year at least. Needs new wheels, gear shifters, brake levers, chain, cassette, etc. Just don't have the money to throw at it atm, the mtbs keep needing new bits. 🙁

I will get it back on't road one day. I will....

My Inbred still works.

I will ride out on it when the World ends*, like King Arthur out of his secret burial mound on the Isle of Avalon. Until then it will stay in suspended animation.

*Or when the FSR has a wallet killer of a mechanical.

I've a 1998 Marin East Peak that's gathering dust. It's pre disc brakes otherwise I'd get it up and running again. I've also got a Robert's White Spider frame hanging up but that's to rusty to revive.

HTS, you also seem to have (presumably less infrequently ridden) 2 specialized's and a scott in the way of your unused Uncle John and Inbred. Are you trying to get chased off the forum with pitchforks?

Unused Inbred here too, never really liked it once I'd ridden it, but can't bring myself to sell it. Occasionally it gets loaned out to bike less friends so it sort of justifies it place.

Not ridden any of mine since April - I don't even flick the brake levers when I walk past anymore. I think the love may have gone!

Got a mint Klein Adept, I've had it for about five years and it only comes out when I do the SDW, which I've only done twice. It is a shame but I can't part with it. The rigid Attitude gets all the use.

All of mine get ridden on a fairly regular basis, the girl friend however has a Kaffenback that NEVER gets used. Time to sell it I reckon.

I've got a bmx that I havent used for about 15 months. Its been sat in the shed (i think its still there) since last april. I would sell it but I'd only get about £200 for it at the most so theres not really much point. I only keep it so i can say "I've got a bmx"

My Trek Fuel EX8 has barely been ridden since I built my Ragley MmmBop just before Christmas. In fact it's been ridden so little, it appears the seals on the XT brakes have gone so until I get some spare cash, it's not going to be ridden for even longer 😥

The Spesh Hardrock is t'wife's.

My work bike is the exact same frame as that, but everything else apart from the shifters and brakes is worn out/broke/replaced, I expect that some weeks my hardrock gets more miles than my 'nice' bikes. 😳 I keep hoping it will crack and I will have to replace it something a bit more innocuous, but i suppose if i only ride it 60 road miles a week the square tubes will outlast me!

Until i built up my pompino nearly all my weekly milleage was done on my inbred.
About 100 miles a week total in commute miles.

The full sus is lucky if it does 200 a year given it usually gets used for trail centre away days and riding holidays.

Hardrocks are bomb proof. They should have called it the Rockhard.

When the human race dies out the World will be populated by cockroaches on Hardrocks.

Cotic Simple; not really enjoyed it since putting RC31's on it. Seems to fragile at 21lb's now.

Just stuck a baby seat on it today though so it may get an outing.

My rigid bike's been hung up since the glentress 7, hasn't really been a time to ride it. It'll come out again soon I'm sure though

I saw one of the square tubed ones locked up outside Tesco's once, it had Super T's on it. I bet it still isn't broke.

Got a ss inbred at the back of the pile too. Doubt it's been ridden in more than 12 months but not getting rid. Keep thinking about an extra cycle conversion for it but...

Two I'm afraid.

This, mainly because the brakes and gears don't work and I can't be arsed fixing them

And this, mainly because it just takes too much time and money to go to the track.

My Spec Enduro is at the back of the stack and hasn't be used since before Xmas. There's a Tricross single for every day, a Cotic X for long road rides and an IO for off road. I'd sell the Enduro if it was worth much

Tim

I had the best part of 18 months off due to working away, then when I could make it, I couldn't be arsed. Didn't even read the bike mags that dropped through the letter box every month.

Recently got some local work and although the thought crossed my mind about riding, the thought that the lads had just been away to the Pyrenees and had been getting fit put me off.

Anyway, I cleaned my bike a few Tuesdays ago and all of a sudden I felt that stirring in my loins 😉 Took myself on a couple of rides with just one mate and a couple of solo rides too. Now been on three of our regular Thursday rides and the bug has bitten. Blasting down Brown Trousers & Black Rocks last week and it felt like I'd never been away.

So, even for a big guy 😉 you owned most of us last time you came out and I'm still the one at the back blowing out of my arse. You're more than welcome to join us on a Thursday if you fancy it. Might be doing Fox House, Houndkirk, Stanage this coming Thursday. August Bank Holiday we are having our annual bash, with a fairly steady ride of usually about 15-20 folk, with a BBQ & beers till late at the Church Inn - partners welcome and it's always a chilled and enjoyable day.

So, whether it's fitness, or just lack of interest, why not join us and see if you can re-kindle the spark?

Would have emailed, but can't see anything in your profile and changed PC's since I last made contact with you, so if you see this and fancy it, drop me a line at nd.marshall71@gmail.com

Dave

shed monster - AKA the 'singlespeed' which has been raped for its parts over the past 6months to feed other things.
I keep looking at it, remembering how much I enjoyed riding it, then remember the only reason I have it is because it was made out of junk for free, and that spending a small fortune on getting a new uber light frame with slotted dropouts and then fitting it with t3h carbones is NOT a solution and I should not even be thinking of it.

main mountain bike too, cracked frame = restricted to gravel and forest trail things, anything more and it will die. So last 8months I've been turned well and truley to the darkside, you know, those dangerous skinny tubed things with rubber band tyres that are glued on 😉
