Anyone got any tips for not getting my bike nicked off the train? I've been told by the conductor that you're not allowed to lock your bike in the bike carriage as it makes getting off too slow, but I'm a bit worried about some pikey making off with it at any of the stations en route. Do you just lock it up anyway? It's seriously putting me off using the trains at the moment as I can't afford to have it pinched.

I'd definitely lock it of I couldn't see it from where I was sitting.

Just lock it to the rack - conductor won't even notice. Sit near your bike if you can.

Lock it or sit next to it.

Different trains have different places to put bikes - If its the guards van then you can't sit next to it - sit as close as possible and watch out of the window at every stop. See someone with your bike and pull the communication cord so the train can't move off

If its in the bike space in the carriage then just sit next to it.

Lock the bike to itself
