Staying in one for the first time. Not particularly biking or booting, but fancied a night in Scarborough (mostly because anything left in Whitby was circa £4-500 for one night)
Wasn't particularly cheap here at £209 but the rooms are decent (aircon would have been nice today, but hey ho).
The hotel restaurant/bar (Bareca) was fantastic though, really surprised as wasn't expecting anything special. Nice vibe, nice staff, great food - packed as well, which presumably tells you something
They had a good reputation up there, hopefully the Hope Valley one is as good.
The hope one is good, not cheap but decent rooms and space and the breakfast is good

The restaurant / bar area of the one in Hope is always busy and vibrant. I've stopped by on 3-4 occasions when I've had time to kill waiting for a train or I've extended my commute home and fancied a drink on the way! Always looks clean and well-run.
The Hope one has also made some redundancies recently…
Stayed in the Hope one before a Gravel X Race, it was very good, not particularly cheap, decent rooms, good atmosphere in the bar/restaurant and and the breakfast was excellent.

Interesting viewpoint. My thinking on it was what an utter nightmare it must have been for all the local B&Bs when big business came in and tripled the local bed spaces in one fell swoop.
