[#1637210]

Plenty of threads discussing bikes on planes etc...

...but what about when you get to the other end??

Thinking about taking the mtb to France this summer. Family hols, and flat as a pancake where we are going, but a regular early morning spin would be good.

However, I can visualise getting to arrivals and finding that it wont fit in the hire car...

Oh, and can anyone advise on cycle access in France?

Is it "Get Orf My Land" in a Franglais accent? Previous trips to Brittany suggested that the locals were pretty relaxed about seeing an mtb on what we Brits would call a "footpath"

There's no footpath/bridleway type distinction in France. Basically, unless you can see a "no cycling" sign, you can ride there.

That explains the relaxed attitude then...
.
Now to sort out the hire car. Having to leave a child at the airport would be a massive fail.
