just seen the nice one on the stoater in the classifieds then checked the price!!.

Got a croix der fer ti with rack mounts mid fork, also the fork doesnt have a horizontal through bolt on the steerer tube for mudguards, its actually vertically positioned up into the steer tube.

Can anyone suggest a lightweight front rack that would fit?

cheers

pizza rack could be a good option, takes low riders too, i think it has different mounting options to suit

I found this like an hour ago as I was searching for a rack myself for the Croix de Fer.

It seems to be a bit overbuilt for the purpose of providing a 'platform' for your drybags etc.

I bodged a no-name rear rack to my CdF using the drop-out mounting points, the steerer tube bolt point and a piece of drilled bent aluminium strip

I've got a Blackburn mt front rack similar to the one Goss has linked to, just fits to fork blade mounts, but it's too narrow for my tandem or vagabond 🙁 might fit a cdf though

Is there any reason you particularly want to carry around some extraneous metal tubing?

Also bear in mind that racks are prone to breakage if venturing off-road and well loaded.
