Agreed to do an off-road 2 night bikepacking trip with a few mates in June in Wales. Can I have some advice on what to take? also, is it best to carry the gear on the bike or in a backpack? Is there normally room for a bottle of Pinot:D Thanks for your help!

Half of what you think you need but enough so you will not be cold
Do a search for 'bikepacking' on here. There are lots of old posts about it. If you are going to take wine, put in a collapsible bottle first. I think a lot of bikepackers prefer to take a hip flask instead.
