So, I'm putting together some bike packing gear, hoping to do some for the first time this year ...

I have a Restrap dry bag, and looking for a cheap (but reliable) harness for it to use for the bars. Borrowed a mate's Wildcat Lion Harness, which seems excellent, but at £70, way too expensive.

Any recommendations for something cheaper, ideally under £30.

Saw this on eBay ... Difficult to assess how it attaches and how well it would work ... But has the advantage of being cheap!

l'll not be a serious and regular bike packer, probably only a couple of times a year, in the better weather, so don't need something to last week in week out for years ...</span>

I made mine. Used a bit of lorry curtain side but an old holdall does as well. Strip of Velcro from ebay and 15 minutes with a sewing machine. Cost 2 quid. Works as well as my mates Wildcat but is a better fit as it was made to measure.

Alpkit Joey with a couple of different 'tough' dry bags depending on bike (short and fat for drop bars, long and thin for MTB) has been doing me OK on and off for a couple of years. Nice and cheap, pretty low faff to set up.

Swanny853 ... Bingo! Didn't even bother to check Alpkit, just assumed (despite their reputation for good value) it would be more than I wanted to pay.

I've just ordered one of those roswheel ones, i'll let you know what its like when it turns up. I've got their seatpack and that seems pretty good for the money, there's a guy round here I see with an Apidura one that swings like the sixties so it can't be much worse than that.
