What's the best security for a bike in an alarmed garage? I'm thinking ground anchor into concrete & BIG **** off chain, but which types are most resistant to scumbags? (the alarm is linked to the house one)
Or should I ask someone on G wing tomorrow!?
A wolf type dog is not an option, neither is anything 'illegal' & i don't have a shotgun certificate.
EDIT, Am I right in thinking that square section chains & anchors are more resistant to bolt croppers or are they just resistant to Roy Cropper?
I use a 19mm and 13mm pragmasis chain. Almax chains are supposed to be as good, if not better.
Ditto what mamadirt below says. He's a great guy to deal with.
Squire ground anchors are what I use. Set in concrete with reinforcing wires in it around the the 'submerged' part of the anchor. Then I've got 11mm hex chain to secure the bikes. It's a good idea to put the anchor close to a wall to make it harder to use bolt cutters on it or the chain.
Have a look at the Torc anchors site - http://www.torc-anchors.com/categories.php?cat=5 - their 16 and 19mm chains are guaranteed impossible to crop by hand though are not square section. Really helpful chap to deal with.
I've got a concrete in ground anchor like this one

With Almax and Abus chains. Enough to make someone resort to noisy means and slow them down
Also have you got sounders in your garage? If you've got something like a master blaster a thief would need ear defenders to stay in there even a short time. Would certainly get peoples attention too.
