Right, I have in mind what I want from a commuter, basically quiet and virtually maintenance-free, so an Afine, discs, drop-bars. Prefer either steel or carbon frame, space for guards, will probably upgrade to a dynamo hub too.

Would like to use the Bike-To-Work scheme, so needs to be new and under £1k.

Will be for a 20 mile each-way commute, so don't want something too heavy and sluggish.

So, the Cotic Roadrat looked like a good option, but they appear to have stopped offering it in drop-bar.

Charge Plug also sprung to mind, but no hub-gear available.

What are my other options?

Cheers, Rich

Could you get a Pompetamine built for that? Or Kaffenback (think they now have swappable drop outs)

Ah, yes, I forgot to mention that the Pompetamine was an obvious choice, although I'm not sure it could be done through the Bike-to-Work scheme, especially as I don't see it as a complete bike on their website any more.

Good call on the Genesis Day One, thanks 🙂

Any more?

Cheers, Rich
