I've always kept bikes stored in the axis that they are ridden - tyres down, however one of my pals asserted the other day that fox forks should be stored upside down (to keep the wiper seals wet).

Does anyone here store bikes vertically or upside down? have you had good or bad experiences of doing it?

Any advice from Fork manufacturers would be nice too.

cheers!

Your mate is correct IIRC about he advice from Fox. They only have a few ml of lubrication oil in them and this does not splash lube the top bush and seals - hence the premature wear. If you store the bike upside down then the top bush gets lube on it as does the foam ring

I've heard this advice based on what TJ says above but is this advice suitable for other fork manufacturers? I stored my RS Rev forks upside and was promptly met with a small puddle of oil one morning resulting in a trip to the LBS for a top up.
