Unfortunately I'm getting more and more pressure to get my MTB bikes out of the house. I have been looking at a few storage options from sheds to bike containers. I'm a bit short of space outside, does anyone know if I would get 2 large specilized bikes into 6x4 shed? I'm concerned about the length of the bikes as they must be around 6 foot.
Fist job, measure the length of the bikes.
Hooks on the roof and you can hang the bikes up to save floor space and get more stuff into the shed.
Measure your bike and find out if it will go into a 6ft shed.
make them measure your bikes and see if they will go in a shed
IME Next they complain they want the shed space for something else
If I was buying some dedicated outdoor bike storage thing, I'd buy something designed for the task, personally. You can get these big green outdoor locker things, they look more practical and more secure than a shed.
But really the only viable solutions are a new house (ideally with a cellar) or a new wife.
Edit: this sort of thing http://www.cyclehoop.com/product/bike-lockers/garden-bike-locker-2/
I've never used one, mind.
The bikes are around 5"11. A 6x4 shed is the external dimensions of said shed. So it will be tight and I would need to angle the bikes a bit.
I like the idea of hanging the bikes from the roof of a shed but having measured the available space again a shed is not realistically an option. So a bike storage unit may be the answer.
.
A slightly bigger shed?
Front wheel hooks to store the bikes vertical.
bikes are considerably shorter if you remove the front wheel...
