[#4968395]

Hi all,
Made a thread a couple of months ago asking for local trails (I live near Ciren).
After some research and recommendations I've tried to cobble together a VERY vague map giving me a very rough idea of the trail locations.
The plan would be to start from either Horsley or Chavenage and ride some or all of the trails, so any more precise information would be awesome so I can make my map better :
Map 1

I've done the same thing with a trail I heard about in Nympsfield woods, and this is even vaguer.
Map 2

Here are the threads I was reading for reference :
http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/any-riders-from-nailsworth-gloucestershire

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/any-good-trails-around-nailsworth

and the previous thread I made:

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/tech-trails-gloucestershire

Sorry, I know it's a bit of a jigsaw puzzle, but any help or grid references or parking spots or maps would be amazing.

EDIT: Someone tell me if the maps work or not, thanks!

Ah wicked, that would be awesome.
I haven't been out in ages, but should be back on the trails soon as I'm hoping to build my new bike next weekend.

Hi I'm local to nailsworth and I'm always looking for new trails. I was looking for somewhere to ride tomorrow (if the weather isn't terrible). I've got a book on Cotswold trails and it says there is a 30k ride that starts in nailsworth so it might be worth a look.

Sorry, I assumed you were posting mid way through a ride when you said "I'm on top of the common", I now see you were posting to simonjj.

Other places of interest look like Sapperton woods (not sure if any one has found anything rideable there) and North Nibley (the downhill is awesome, but having been there a few times, I can't help but think there must be a few decent XC trails around there somewhere.

I'm up for this, I'm near Noahs, been out with Bigfoot around Stroud and did a nice trail from Nailsworth which runs parallel with the road to Uley. Been up to Standish and Edge a few times. Not sure about the land access up at Sapperton Woods, may be Bathurst Estate or protected woodland. My emails in profile if you get a date together, I work shifts so it may be a bit hit and miss.

There is a public bridleway next to the canal in Sapperton woods by the Daneway (really nice old fasioned pub), so maybe some of the wood is rideable.

I also know a really really good ride that used to be my local. Slad/Sheepscombe/Cranham/Painswick/Slad we should def do that one on a dry spring summer evening (pub stops at Butchers Arms or Woolpack or both!) its quite long with plenty of climbing and some nice singletrack(cranham bits are now restricted) and passes a couple of jump spots that archie you might enjoy!

With any luck a much needed bike part should arrive on Thursday after nearly 3 months of waiting. Then I can build my bike at the weekend, and I plan to a bit of exploring over the Easter holidays, whatever the weather as it has been too long without riding.

There's singletrack all the way from Selsley common to the viewpoint at the top of Frocester hill.

See these route ideas too:

There's also things at Sapperton, up towards Cirencester, out the back of Painswick via the old air field, stuff between Tetbury and Cirencester.

I live in Stonehouse btw. Heavily involved with MBSwindon - we've got shop discounts at Leisure Lakes in Cheltenham, Noahs in Stroud, Back8bikes in Nailsworth, Rides24/7 in Cirencester plus bikes shops in Swindon, Bristol, Newbury, Wallingford. Overall 40 discounts.

We're planning regular evening rides round the Stroud area in the summer of 2013.

Sounds great. We've got a load of keen riders in the area already. Just a matter of getting on with it really.
We also do Friday evening rides at our trail in Swindon and then go to the pub.
Spinning classes on Tuesday.
All on our website and facebook page and twitter.
