Any tips would be much appreciated.
4-6 people,self catered favourite and is it proper Artic polar bears etc at that time of year ?

We stayed at the Butchers Arms. The foods better than I expected, the beers good and the locals are funny. So is the landlord, he looks like Ron Jeremy, make sure you ask him for a taste of his ale before you choose..

If the Butchers Arns is the one with the bunkhouse then I can vouch for that as well. Very handy, good breakfast and a decent pint

Cardiff is also only half an hours drive away if you fancy staying somewhere a bit more metropolitan than Merthyr.
