Hi all,
Seeking a liitle bit of help here.
Im doing a small project at uni looking at en Electron Nano 9 bike light. The information im looking to get is what standards bike lights have to comply with and what testing methods they undergo before they are allowed to be released for sale.
Any info or web links would be very much apreciated.

Hi that information was useful.
What i was really meaning was like say the force applied to the light before if smashes into a million pieces. Tests like that.
But non destructive tests. I have heard that we can do a water test, i.e put it i a water tank to a depth of about 2m and see if it still works.

i doubt there is anything relating to a structural test for bike lights.
Design your own tests and suggest they become the industry standard make your self a light that conforms and hey presto the competition has some catching up to do.
There's no impact standards for the BS light test, not sure about ANSI.
The BS standard is brightness and angle of view, very little else.
