[#12468620]

My lad has just had his Bike stolen in Newstead village. He’d let his mate have a ride on it & it was stolen at knife point in the country park near the ponds:

Bright orange 16” Orange Patriot 66
White Lyrics
Push tuned Van RC shock
Shimano 11 speed SLX groupset
Black Sun 745 bars
Mavic EN821 UST rims on red Superstar hubs

You'd hope police would take that more seriously than usual bike theft

Register it here, offer a reward, worked for me & police recognised the seller from his Facebook and immediately

Thanks Kimbers - done.

It should attract Police attention as it’s reported as a knifepoint robbery.

Having now spoken to the so called “friend” his account was inconsistent and fairly implausible; I suspect it’s either been passed on or stashed in the woods.

Fingers crossed it turns up. Sounds quite a distinctive machine.

Have the police interviewed the lad concerned?

How old is his mate?

You think a trip round his house n see his folks would achieve anything

Yes I do.

God knows where this kid lives. He’s not really a mate, just some lad who he knows. Same old story of “giz a go on your bike mate…”

Have the police interviewed the lad concerned?

I doubt it - I bet it hasn’t even been allocated to anyone yet. My lad spent a good 20 mins running round in a panic before phoning home… he was terrified what I would say and decided to have a look round himself. He reported it to British Transport Police who were in the area who promptly did nothing at all that I could see. I ended up phoning the police about 1hr after it happened.

Yes it’s very distinctive. It’s also the bike I raced in the 2009 Mega ☹️
