very long story(so i wont bother you with it), but my insurance company has skanked me over a claim. have been advised to go for dedicated insurance and wondered if the collective could advise me as to which company to go for. looking for a blanket type policy that would cover all my bikes if poss.

thanks in advance

I have M&S household with all risks cover - for £200 pa I get all my bikes covered under virtually all circumstances. I recently had to claim and I cannot complain about the service I got.

I looked into specific bike policies and was quoted 10% of the insured value of the bike per year - so that would be £400 at least for me

CTC?
BCF?

They do insurance or at least recommend people.

The one the BCF does is 10% of value per year. Very specific on where you keep them etc

Jeremey is right... M&S are spot on... Insured for nigh on any drama, and anything under £4k is unrecipted..
They get my custom.

CIS used to be pretty good too, their all risks policy was reasonably priced a few years back when we used them, only drawback was they wouldn't insure bikes worth more than £2000.

If you go with dedicated bike insurance they're all about 10% of the bike value per year and all have very specific terms and conditions around storage and approved locks. I switched to M&S after a year and it's much cheaper, I don't need to individually register the bikes (unless they're over £4k in value) and they have much less stringent conditions. They only thing it lacks is race cover and roadside recovery but not too bothered about those and roadside recovery at least is available as an option on it's own from some specialist bike insurers.

Another M&S user here. I made a claim for a bike with them a few years ago without any problems or drama.
