Where's the cheapest place to get decent bike insurance? Home insurance company want an arm and a leg.

That'll be the cheapest by far over a specialist policy. Standard answer on this seems to be M&S but there was talk of their terms changing.

Most bike specific companies will want 10% of the value of the bike as annual premiums. i.e. none are cheap.

Plus, the small print can be insane, approved locks, keep the bike indoors during darkness, not insuring accessories etc etc. Gf had insurance when she was at uni, someone failed to cut the main lock, so cut the secondary cable securing the rear wheel and took the wheel (a fairly nice one). Insurance wouldn't play ball at all, wouldn't even enter into discussions over their claim that the wheel was an accessory and therefore not covered.

Change your home insurance! Seriously, you are better off self insuring than paying bike specific.
